Fundraising for my Daddy

My father has fallen into some really hard times this past year... I'm trying to help raise money and his spirits to help him. His only steady form of income currently is what my husband and I can give. He's having trouble finding work and each day he becomes more depressed.

This is the man that helped me through losing my son and then my mother... I will try and do anything to help him...

I'm opening up commissions and selling art work, all proceeds will go straight to my Father's debt or to him for bills, food and gas.

I'm going to be doing the 100 art challenge. Each picture will be put on sale.
Turns out that money for the postal exam was a scam... He just can't find a break. He is however taking the ACTUAL postal exam soon. I went to the mall and bought him new clothes because I'm pretty sure he hasn't had ANY new clothes since Mom became too sick to go out. I got him a handful of tshirts and collared shirts, some pants, sweatshirt and shorts, in hopes of helping him look a bit more professional for interviews. He says he gets the feeling no one wants to hire an old man like him...

I'm trying to get him to paint more. He is absolutely fantastic at it. He said if he does, he will ship me finished pieces so I can help sell them. I really hope he does. I love his work.

My very first dA upload. Who knew that this first picture would lead to much improvement and "addiction" to posting. LoL. She might not be anatomically correct but I'm still very proud of it.

My first "OC"
I fell in love with this girl, she's been tweaked slightly since this picture but not by much at all. She's a part of my personality and she continues to grow. Someday I'll write her story. First picture on the left and her "updated" look on the right.

This is the ATC short book I made for my dying mother... Sadly she never got to see it or read it. I did read it to her when she was in a coma and had the funeral home cremate it with her. I only hope that she knows how much I love her and how sorry and regretful of the all the time I spent bickering or fighting with her. I wish I treated her like she deserved. I will keep her memory with me forever. I love you Mom.

I've fallen in love with this comic style. I really need to draw more like this. I love emotional pieces and often will draw vent art. Or in this case, a very small sketch of a girls face turned into a giant page of comic. I love finding inspiration.

My new thing I'm trying to get into the habit of doing. DETAIL. I've felt my pictures have been lacking and that is in the details. I feel like this is a great start and I'm hoping to continue down this road here on dA.

This is just last years Summary but linked has summaries leading all the way to 2003. I LOVE seeing how far I've progressed. With the friends I have made on dA I hope I continue improving and having fun like I do here.

Thank you dA for such a wonderful site where I've grown as an artist and friend. I have a small special dA family and couldn't be happier.

Still Computerless...

I want to apologize to all my contest winners. I am still computerless... I can only work on things in small windows... Whenever I can steal a friends computer, pretty much. Things ARE being worked on. The perler pieces will have to wait until I get a computer. I need a certain program to pixel out the art before I physically make them. Which can be a few hour process if not longer.

I will get everything done though.

Sorry for the Poof

I just got home from the move from Florida and the cross country road trip. My laptop died a couple days after leaving Florida... I WILL be working on contest prizes and when I can fine a computer to upload pics I will, they will be camera shots for now. As soon as I can get a replacement computer (looks to be about end of May) I will scan and replace the cruddy shots for the better scan!

Thank you winners for your patience in this ordeal.. I didn't foresee losing my computer ;;

This is my devianART story! I first joined 8 years ago, just looking for a place to post my art, never thinking I would walk away with long term friendships. I'm not popular here but the people I've met and befriended are more than I could have ever asked for. My very first dA upload.
